The development of toendaCMS 2 (see toendaCMS 2 and PHP5) is in a high phase, we work under high pressure.
In the next days we can publish a first beta release including the optimized PHP5 kernel, the complete integrated Business-Logic-Layer framework and ... a new template engine called toendaTemplate. It's build on the current templates and eypanded it.
The theory is, that we can take out all HTML code and replace it into .tpl files (ideas based on the TYPO3 template engine). These files will be parsed and some parts of it will be loaded into the engine. Each .tpl file can have multiple parts of HTML code, but there are bonded on some restriction (more on themeportal.de or in our knowledgebase) - but with this way you have considerably greater freedom in designing your own template.
